Classic Game Room - Classic Game Room - X-ARCADE TANKSTICK review

Posted: 16 Jul 2011 07:23 AM PDT
http://ping.fm/01NqG

Classic Game Room reviews the X-ARCADE TANKSTICK from X-Arcade powered by
Xgaming. This massive dual arcade joystick with a trak-ball can be used on
PCs with USB inputs and on Sega Dreamcast, PS2 (and PS1), GameCube, PS3 and
Xbox 360 with the appropriate adapters. Complex, expensive and difficult to
program, the X-arcade Tankstick wont be for those who arent serious about
their gaming with some time, money and patience on their site. Awesome
arcade-style gameplay is delivered when all is said and done though. For
this review the Xarcade Tankstick was tested with PC games before and after
programming, Mame emulators, PS2 and Sega Dreamcast. CGR recommends the
Dreamstick from Dream Arcade for Xbox 360 because it is a 360 controller
disassembled and built into an arcade stick to prevent lag. The Tankstick
works well with PC, Dreamcast and PS2 (all tested for this review using
adapters) but dont expect to not do repair work on it. Build quality is
questionable given the price but its nothing a butter knife and a few hours
cant fix, which is irritating. The Tankstick can be purchased as a massive
controller as shown or bought with an X-Arcade stand up arcade machine.
Versatility and style may be the X-Arcade Tanksticks biggest assets, but
those really interested in a house-sized joystick may also want to consider
a custom job for the same price. In any event, it is impressive and
replaces the Dreamcast controller which needs replacing for many games like
Capcom vs. SNK 2

Classic Game Room - VARKON arcade game pinball machine review

Posted: 16 Jul 2011 07:23 AM PDT
http://ping.fm/2hawh

Classic Game Room reviews VARKON arcade game pinball machine from Williams
released in 1982. One of only 90 Varkon machines ever produced, this
amazing model lives at the Professional and Amateur Pinball Association
World Headquarters in Pittsburgh. Varkon is a pinball machine crammed into
an upright arcade game cabinet and played in a mirror with joysticks for
flipper controls. Plays like a pinball machine, tasts like a videogame.
Varkon is a rarity and very cool because of it, also the art design, title
and gameplay are truly unique and very detailed. It handles in a unique way
because the gameplay is basically reversed and the joysticks change the
characteristics of ball handling. This CGR review of Williams pinball
machine Varkon has gameplay from Varkon arcade game showing Varkon game
play footage in HD in this Varkon review. Filmed at Pinburgh 2011.

Classic Game Room - STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 3 for Dreamcast review

Posted: 16 Jul 2011 07:23 AM PDT
http://ping.fm/5mSdr

Classic Game Room reviews STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 3 for Sega Dreamcast from
Capcom released in 1999, also known as Street Fighter Zero 3 in Japan for
the Japanese Sega Saturn. Street Fighter Alpha 3 on Dreamcast has silky
smooth gameplay, amazing 2D graphics and sound combined with awesome
controls (although the DC controller is awful, fighting stick recommended.)
Play as your favorite old school characters like Chun-Li, Guile and Blanka
or find some less common ones, with a roster of about 30 fighters to choose
from theres something for everyone in Street Fighter Alpha 3 for Dreamcast.
This videogame is also available for Sega Saturn, PS1 and Japanese
Dreamcast. CGR review of Street Fighter Alpha 3 has gameplay from the Sega
Dreamcast release of Street Fighter Alpha 3 showing SF Alpha 3 game play in
HD.

Classic Game Room - Classic Game Room - MR. DO! for ColecoVision review

Posted: 16 Jul 2011 07:23 AM PDT
http://ping.fm/6BgCL

Classic Game Room reviews MR. DO! for ColecoVision from 1983. Originally
released in the arcades in 1983 by Universal and published by Taito, Mr.
Do! is very similar to Namcos classic Dig Dug but with some fundamental
differences that make it rock. In Mr. Do you play as a clown armed with a
fun-ball that you throw at enemies, once thrown it leaves you vulnerable
until it comes back. Collect cherries in groups of 8 to score bonus points,
drop apples on bad guys and collect letters to score an extra life. Similar
to Dig Dug you are digging around in dirt and avoiding bad guys in tunnels
as well as collecting various food items in the center of the screen, but
the scoring is very different and the super-ball requires a different
offensive strategy than one would use with a bike pump. Mr. Do! was ported
to various game consoles including the Atari 2600, NES, Super Nintendo SNES
and Neo Geo! The ColecoVision version is excellent and suffers a bit
because of the Coleco controller but not enough to ruin the game. Visuals
and audio are top notch as is the stunning gameplay. This CGR review of Mr.
Do! has gameplay from Mr Do showing Mr. Do game play in HD from
Colecovision where gaming review footage of Mr. Do! was recorded for this
Mr. Do! video review on YouTube.

Classic Game Room - CRAZY TAXI for PS3 review

Posted: 15 Jul 2011 09:56 PM PDT
http://ping.fm/mZP0f

Classic Game Room reviews CRAZY TAXI for PS3 Playstation (and Xbox 360)
from Sega. The 1999 arcade classic returns for download onto Playstation
Network and Xbox Live. This insanely fun and addictive driving game packs
something that other taxi style games dont, a large dose of CRAZY! Drive
like a maniac and earn cash as you shuttle morons around the city screaming
about getting to the pizza shop or light house. This CGR review of Segas
classic Crazy Taxi features Crazy Taxi gameplay on PS3 showing Playstation
3 Crazy Taxi game play from Playstation Network. Crazy Taxi was available
on other game consoles back in the day including the Sega Dreamcast in 2000
where Crazy Taxi was crazy awesome.
